Sustainable Energy Rountable Series (SERS):
Next Steps Post-Kyoto: U.S. Options
January-March 2005
As the Kyoto Protocol enters into force, binding signatory nations to its targets for cutting greenhouse gas emissions,
there has been a parallel burst of activity by U.S. states and private industry that may lead to emissions cuts here
at home. It is an opportune time to take stock of the status of these international and domestic measures and the
possible paths forward. The Sustainable Energy Institute (www.s-e-i.org) cordially invites you to attend these panel
discussions. This series of three SEI roundtables aim to bring U.S. policymakers and others
up to speed on the current picture and the perspectives of a diversity of U.S. parties, as well as provide a forum
for open discussion of U.S. policy options, both in international negotiations and on the home front.
SEI notes with appreciation the financial support of this series provided by the following companies:
Calpine, Entergy, Exelon, FPL, Pfizer and PSEG.
